Ah...the story of my life

Well, it's definitely been a while. Sorry I sort of dropped off the face of the earth for a while there, but I'm quite ready now to begin writing again. In fact, I really have no idea why it's been so long...just me being lazy I guess. Ah...the story of my life.

Let's start at the beginning, shall we? Summer was going really great for a while there. I was working as much as my boss seemed fit...which wasn't hardly enough, but I take what I get. It began as two days a week then progressed to four. I'm still told that I'll soon be getting more days than I can handle, but I hardly doubt it. I can handle anything :) Heehee. I was actually getting to spend a decent amount of time with friends. Amy was in Germany and Tiffie was a bit preoccupied. But I still got to hang out with people including all my good old friends and some new ones. I was really liking hanging with the new friends for a while there....but that ended rather abruptly and unexplained. But whatever. I'm over it. lol.

And guess what else?! I was actually running almost every day! Granted I skipped a couple of Sundays because I had church in the morning...and maybe another random day every now and then because I didn't get enough sleep or just didn't feel like it....but still. It was almost every morning that I was up and running. And I was doing SO well too! I could actually make it to my Aunt Alice's house and back without hyperventilating. For those of you who don't know where my Aunt Alice lives it's at the bottom of the hill that leads to the pool on East Main Street. So...it's not really THAT far, but it was great for me because let's face it. I'm not a runner....but for a while there I was...and I was loving it. I was loving summer...until Black Wednesday.

The events of Black Wednesday could be examined from all angles to determine how exactly it happened....If only I hadn't gone to Jessica's house...if only I hadn't wanted to jump on the trampeline...if only I hadn't stopped jumping in order to watch the road for Andrew...if only Jimmy weren't born. Haha (I'm just teasing you, Jimmy. I love ya!) But no matter how you look at it there's really no reason to stress over it. The fact is I was on a trampeline, landed on my ankle wrong, and badly sprained it.

I have since been out of commission...yesterday was the two week mark...at first my entire foot and ankle (toes and all) resembled a huge purple blimp, but it has since transformed to the multi colored, only semi swollen foot that it is now. In fact, my ankle is actually beginning to be normal size again...close, but no cigar. I can get around the house without my crutches now as long as I don't walk around for too long. Since the ankle is still swollen I can't walk unless I'm only putting pressure on the top of my foot, not the heel. But hey, I'm getting there! And I'm scheduled to do the market at work a week from this Saturday. Then I'll be back to work full time and HOPEFULLY soon after that I can start running again...I keep saying that, but in reality it will probably be awhile until I can run again...

So of course if I had my way I would not have hurt my ankle, would not have had to miss three weeks of work, and would still be running (and skinny...). I mean, let's face it. This situation really freaking sucks...But life sort of has it's own plans for me...despite what I want. So all I can do is suck it up...or be really depressed and feel sorry for myself...but that's a whole other story...don't ask. lol. So...yeah...that's what I've been up to. I still won't be working this upcoming week so if you want to do something just let me know. Until then...

Peace out

Katherine
