Bear with me (corrected from Bare with me) Also, Jimmy Lingenfelter is mean.

Well...if you're a dedicated reader you can obviously see that I've been messing around with my blog. My original idea was to do a complete makeover for my blogsite, but things just aren't going my way...First I wanted to change the templete to something other than what's offered through the blogsite, but I couldn't get that to work...Then I tried to change my picture, and that was a semi failed attempt. Then I wanted to think of a new name, and I'm still toying around with options.

So for now this is what I'm stuck with...I'll probably try to change it soon or sometime in the future, but quite frankly I'm sick of messing around with this and trying to figure it out! Why do I have to be so computer illiterate?! Oh well...I'll just have to make do, and unfortunately so will you. If you're a true blogger you'll keep reading anyway, and if you're a true friend you'll give me some imput on what to do. Heehee.

Loving life,

Back At It...

Well...here I am again...back at good old Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. I wish I could say that I am happy to be back, but we all know that I'm not. But let's not get into how much I hate school and being away from my family and friends. Let's start out with something good shall we...As some of you may know I am now a sophomore. You know what that means! Well...actually, sophomore year is pretty much the most boring year because you have nothing to look forward to. Freshman year you can't wait to just not be a freshman anymore, Junior year you look forward to being a senior, and senior year you look forward to graduating...but sophomore year just sucks. At least that's how it was in high school. Well, actually I can't lie. Sophomore year of high school was better than freshman, but enough about that. High School is so in the past.

One advantage of being a sophomore though is that I actually know what's going on. I don't need to stop and look at my map to figure out which red brick building is which, I don't walk to dining halls to discover that they're closed, I understand scheduling, and I am not confused by the bus schedule. In fact, just the other day while on the bus I helped some obviously confused freshman by giving them a copy of the bus schedule. I felt pretty cool. Heehee. I suppose there are also some other advantages this year compared to last...

  • * My dorm is right across from the rec (more incentive to go, maybe?)
  • * I am right across from the bathroom again
  • * I am much closer the the wonderful market that I would always get yummy food
  • * My dorm room has much more closet space
  • * I am rooming with my sister...which may turn out to be a bad idea later, but right now it's a huge upgrade from last year...
  • * Really nice new buses this year
  • * We're allowed to get a parking pass this year
  • * We'll be seeing Twila a lot more I think

Now, of course....it's impossible to have only advantages...so here are some disadvantages...

  • * Not very close to miss Mallory...but hopefully we'll still see her tons
  • * Smaller dorm room
  • * Further from Shriver...but still not THAT far
  • * The room is so small we have to bunk our beds and I'm on top, but I don't really mind. I'm sure once winter is here I'll be freezing. I just always complain about the temperature...
  • * No air conditioning so it's really hot right now...especially on the top bunk
  • * No family, friends, or John! :(
  • * English Education major...which means tons of books...$510 to be exact...

Well, that's it for comparisons. There are some differences, but needless to say I am rather content. I could care less about my surroundings or anything. I'm just trying to survive classes so I can go home when I can...Here's hoping for a fast school year! I don't know what this means exactly, but I have already been here for three days and I still don't feel like I'm actually here...I must still be in summer mode. Or maybe it just feels weird because things aren't exactly like they were last year...which is weird...After my very first class this year I started walking back to my dorm room and didn't realize until it was too late that I was walking to Morris Hall instead of Porter (my hall last year). Silly me...

So the first week is already going extremely slow, but that's okay...I'm sure it will speed up. I am taking five classes this semester:

  • * Human Development and Learning in social and educational contexts (No idea what this actually means...)
  • * Physical Science and Lab (The only science class I'll EVER have to take here. Yay!)
  • * Backgrounds to Composition Theory and Research (Again, don't know what this means, but it seems like a really fun class)
  • * Introduction to Adolescent Education (This class will help me figure out if I really want to be a teacher or not...hopefully...because I really need to figure this out)
  • * Creative Writing: Short Fiction and Poetry (Unfortunately I think it's going to be more focused on poetry...)

We'll see how they go, but I don't think it's going to be too difficult of a semester. I'm going to strive for the Dean's List again...hmmmm....we'll see...If this semester goes well though, then maybe next semester I'll take another five classes and another horseback riding class. Here's hoping! Well...I guess that's it for now. There's nothing else I really have to talk about for now, which is good because this was already too long of an entry about school. Who wants to talk about school? I certainly don't! Peace out!

Keep smiling :)

(That means you, mister!)

I love John Algire Shearer!

As some of you may know from my excitement this past week, my wonderful handsome boyfriend came home from college this weekend to see me. I was a bit worried at first because it started out as only an 80% chance that he was going to come home. But he did come home and let me just say that it was WONDERFUL!!!!

After five weeks of not seeing him as soon as he pulled into my driveway late Friday night I ran to him and gave him a big hug, practically knocking him over. Oh my goodness I missed hugging that kid. Followed by our Friday night reunion was the Wooster Farmer's Market early Saturday morning (for my work...), steaks with his family, some much needed down time, and another day with the Shearers. It was WONDERFUL!!!!

I calculated that the entire weekend I only spent twelve hours apart from John. Oh my goodness it was amazing. I had anticipated it for so long and now it has come and gone so quickly. And I can't wait to see him again...Well...actually....I can wait because once the thing you anticipat comes, it goes by extra fast, which isn't cool... But look on the bright side, at least now I only have to wait three weeks until I get to see him again! I really wish it would come up fast, but only if it would go extra slow once it comes. That would be just perfect.

Well...anyway...I'm really tired so I better go....but let me just say that...

I LOVE JOHN ALGIRE SHEARER!!!!

Keep smiling :)
And laughing of course...

This blog has no title

Hello all! I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer, and if not then you had better start because it is almost over! Yes...it's true...summer is just about winding down to an end. I think I first realized this when I drove by the Perrysville Junior High and read the message on the marque, "Enjoy the rest of summer." If that isn't a kick in the face I don't know what is...They might as well have written "Hahaha, your precious summer vacation is almost over. Soon you will be trapped in the tortourous world of school and there's nothing you can do about it! Hahaha!"

So yeah...anyway...basically I've been up to just about nothing. I went back to Put-in-Bay last weekend with my cousins, Lauren and Twila. We've gone every summer since I was a freshman, so it was our fifth annual year. We drove around in a golf cart, I kicked butt in putt putt (believe it!), and did some other cool cousiny stuff. It was fun. Then we came back and these past two days I have been enjoying my free time because I'm only working two days this week...yeah...let's not get into that though...

Alright, so basically there is only one thing really worth blogging about right now, and that is...my new cell phone ringer! That's right folks! Some of you may remember that last November I bought Accidentally in Love by the Counting Crows as my new ringer and I absolutely love it! But last night a friend sent me a text message with a sound...and I saved that sound and now it's my new ringer! And what is it, you ask? Well, none other than the best nintendo theme ever! Donkey Kong! That's right! I now have the Donkey Kong theme as my ringer! You have my permission to be completely and utterly jealous. Heehee.

Well, that's about it. I shall try to write again before I head off to Oxford for yet another school year. Only three more left! (hopefully) Peace out!

Keep smiling :)
(And if you're not smiling, then you'd better start!)

Put-in-Bay and some other randomness

Hello all! Wow...either I have no motivation to write whatsoever or I lead a rather uneventful life...hm...I'm afraid it's most likely the latter. Basically all I've been doing these past couple of weeks is working (although I still don't work as often as I'd like to) and hanging out at home doing nothing. However, recently I did manage to have some fun with my girlfriends. Yep...this past Sunday and Monday I went on a little vacation to Put-in-Bay with the lovely Tiffani, Amy, Beth, Bri, and Marissa. And I must say it was wonderful.

We putt putted, played some rousing games of Hangman, swam in Lake Erie (ick...it's like swimming in a huge toilet...), and ate at Pasquales, my favorite island restaurant (even though it's overpriced and my food came out at least ten minutes later than everyone elses'). Needless to say I had an absolutely wonderful time. It was really nice to spend some quality time with the girls before we all go back to college, which by the way I leave August 20th...less than 3 weeks... Oh! And I got a little sunburn. You know what that means! Hopefully it will turn into tan. Yay! I'm so freaking white these days.

Guess what I've been doing! Well...not a lot, just whenever I can...playing tennis! Oh yes! It is SO much fun! I really suck and I still don't completely understand how to play correctly, but it's fun nonetheless. And it gives me a good workout. I'm chasing after the ball all the time, so it's like the same workout as running...which I also try to do as much as possible, but that's not working out so hot. I really need to get my act together and run/play tennis every morning. Especially before it gets so darn hot. I mean, honestly. What is with all this freaking hot weather?! I know it's summer, but come on! I am so not a summer kind of girl. Of course there are many aspects of summer that I love, such as summer nights, summer lightening storms, and other stuff, but I can honestly say that summer is my least favorite season. I really can't wait until autumn, or what I like to call Fair weather. That's right. The time of the Loudonville free street fair. Just jeans, tennis shoes, and a sweatshirt. Now that's what I'm talking about.

Alrighty, well I suppose I better go before this blog entry gets any worse...it's only 10:15 so I'll probably play some Sims before I head off to bed. Yeah...I've totally gone back in time to Junior High...well...the good part of Junior High because let's face it, Junior High sucked. Anyway...yeah...peace out!

Keep smiling :)
